PALAETTE

PA︎LAE︎TTE, noun. The combination of one’s palette and palate

A zine pairing local food establishments with famed artists to emphasize cooking, baking and making as an art form.

This issue combines a review of the infamous Franklin’s Fountain with the works of Renoir. His brush strokes seemly melting into the fibers of each canvas felt like the perfect pair for sweet, cold ice cream.

Renoir’s paintings can be seen either photoshopped over, into, or placed juxtaposed with classically stylized desserts. This allows the audience to draw comparisons between familiar beauties and newfound fun.

The bright colors and camp aspect of the imageey allows the zine to sit in it’s minimalism. The interview based content breathes next to it’s eye catching counterparts.
